From 4th–6th December 2025, Amani Communities Africa (ACA), in collaboration with the Women Regional Network of Peacebuilders–Kenya, Chosen Peace Centre, Sustainable Futures Africa Foundation, The Karen Hospital, and with support from Haela Foundation, convened the 6th Annual Kabusha Peace & Wellness Retreat at PEC Nature Park in Kajiado County.
The retreat brought together 36 participants from Kenya, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Africa for a deeply transformative experience of renewal, reflection, and reconnection. Anchored in the theme “Cultivating Your Inner Garden,” participants embarked on an intentional journey of inner growth—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
Through guided moments of self-reflection, group reflection, and self-care activities, participants were invited to listen inward and honestly assess the state of their inner lives. The retreat balanced moments of stillness with opportunities for emotional release, creating a safe and nurturing environment for healing.
Participants courageously explored their personal “weeds”—fears, limiting beliefs, and emotional blocks that hinder growth—and symbolically released them, marking a powerful shift toward clarity, courage, and compassion.
Kabusha remains deeply passionate about nurturing and maintaining the wellness of leaders, peacebuilders, and change agents who carry the weight of service in their communities. Kabusha continues to serve as a dedicated space where leaders are encouraged to pause, lay down their burdens, and be replenished—recognizing that sustainable peace work begins with healthy, grounded, and self-aware individuals.
